Pictures | Christmas Countdown Scrapbook

In 2008, my mom sent me my first Christmas countdown garland. There were notes for each day, starting with December 1st, counting down until the day that I got to come home for the holidays. A few years ago, I started sending her garlands back. This year, I decided to mix it up and I created a Christmas Countdown scrapbook.

I think it's really important to have a theme for a scrapbook so that it is structured. In looking through photos, I decided on the theme: Merry Musings on what Christmas means to the Brown Family. I've posted the cover sheet and one of the pages below.

This project definitely ended up being way more involved that I first thought, but here are my tips:
  1. Find a paper pack that you can incorporate throughout the book to give it a unifying color scheme--I found a really cute pack at Michael's that had some pinks/greens/teals.
  2. Go through the book once getting in the main pieces of each layout. Go through a second and third time adding in the small details.
  3. Martha's glue pen! This is a product I really love. The paper sticks REALLY well--better than any glue stick I've ever used.
