It's definitely my busiest time of work right now, so I find that I have to be intentional about making fun plans with friends to have something to look forward to in the future. I decided a while back to throw a "FeBREWary" beer bracket party in February, and with the end of January rapidly approaching, it's time to start the planning!
Here are the details: each person brings his/her favorite beer to enter into the bracket. I'll serve up two beers at a time in a blind taste test, and the group votes. The winning beer in each match up moves on to the next round!
Take a look at the invite I designed in Publisher:
My ideal number is 8 different types of beer, 4 light and 4 dark, and they'll be on opposite sides of the bracket. I'll have to do some beer math to figure out how much each person will need to bring, so RSVPs are crucial.
Caroline had the idea to make a fun snack for the party, so we're going to try to make pretzel bites, reminiscent of the delicious pretzels from Harpoon Brewery. We'll also be whipping up some tasty dipping sauces.
I'll check back in after the party to write about how it goes!
