Friday
- I got in around noon and met Mere at her work for lunch. We stepped out and walked around Central Park--she's pretty lucky to work so nearby.
- After work, we made our way back to her place near Gramercy Park. We ate dinner on her rooftop--nothing fancy. En route to our theater for a musical, we stopped at Magnolia Bakery for the famous banana pudding. No trip to NYC is complete without it!
- We saw the musical, "She Loves Me." It was very cute--not a lot of plot, but beautiful sets, great costumes, fun music, and a great cast, (namely Zachary Levi).

I totally got in trouble for taking photos. Yikes! (The bottom one is from the internet) |
- After the musical, we meandered back home and called it a night.
- We woke up and hit up a cafe for breakfast. Gotta love <$5 breakfast plates/sandwiches
- Jon had made it into NYC late the night before, and we had plans to go see the Statue of Liberty, (I'd never seen it before!). We got tickets on this site, ($18 for the ferry ride to Liberty Island and Ellis Island).
- The ferry ride was pretty quick, and the statue was really beautiful up close. We walked around and then hopped back on the ferry to make our way over to Ellis Island. Ellis Island was really neat. I wish I had had hours in the museum to read everything. It was interesting to learn about the reasons why immigrants left everything they knew behind to venture to this new country. The museum does a great job of helping you envision what the experience would have been like for immigrants.

- We had lunch in the Financial District and then took the subway uptown to 72nd Street (?) to attempt to get cookies from Levain Bakery. The line was WAY too long, so we got treats from Magnolia Bakery and snacked in Central Park on the gorgeous day. (Pro tip--my friend told me to order cookies over the phone!)
- We walked back through Times Square before heading home. Our feet were really tired!
- We ordered Thai food and ate on Mere's roof again. That night, I went out with Meredith and her friends. We found an awesome bar in the Financial District called Ulysses. There was fantastic live music.
Sunday
- We got a slow start on Sunday. I went out to Central Park again to read since the weather was so beautiful.
- I stopped at Milk Bar since I love Christina Tosi on MasterChef. I got delicious cookies for later--the menu was a bit overwhelming!
- While I didn't do anything very touristy on Sunday, I enjoyed walking around NYC. The flowers were probably my favorite part!
- And I was very inspired to make a print for my Etsy shop. Overall, a really great weekend!
