It's a cold rainy day here in Boston, so it's the perfect day for chili! I decided to put my crock pot to good use for this recipe.
All of my shopping was done at Trader Joe's for this recipe.
Ingredients
2 packages of ground turkey
1/2 white onion
1 28 ounce can of diced tomatoes (I ended up adding one more 15 oz can later!)
1 15 ounce can of kidney beans
1 15 ounce can of kidney beans
1 15 ounce can of pinto beans
1 small can of green chilis
Spices used: chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, black pepper
Instructions
1. Dice the onions, and soften in a sauce pan
2. Brown the turkey on the stove
3. Dump all the cans into the crock pot and add your desired ratio of spices (I just do generous dashes of all of them)
4. Add the browned turkey meat and turn on the crock pot to low (for 6-7 hours) or medium (for 4-6 hours).
5. Can add sour cream (or greek yogurt), cheese, or chips!
Enjoy several hours later!
