I was inspired by Anne in Residence in one of her posts to make an Instagram poster for my apartment. I had an Ikea Ribba frame sitting around, and a blank wall near my entrance, so I found some photos I really liked to create my poster.
I wanted a theme for my artwork, so I found lots of pictures that I had taken around Harvard, my home for the past 8 years. Other themes I thought of were pictures of Jon and me, places we've been, or activities we've done together around Boston. I thought that pictures of home was a nice theme for this poster in the apartment.
I got prints of 12 3"x3" photos, (I cropped regular photos to fit the
dimensions), and arranged them in Microsoft Publisher until I was happy with the
layout. From there, it was as simple as gluing them to my page with my
Martha Stewart glue stick.
I wasn't too careful with straight lines and kind of eye-balled it, so you'll see in the final project that the pictures don't line up completely perfectly, but I think it looks just fine. Total time to put it together was less than 10 minutes! Take a look!
