Plates | Monkey Bread

So here's the thing. Monkey bread is really not all that impressive of a dish--it's actually super easy to make--but people go bananas for it (see what I did there?!). What is most impressive is that I made 3 huge batches of it and didn't have a single bite, (I'm currently going 100 days with no dessert, starting Jan 1, 2016, yes, it's torture).

But anyway, it was a huge hit when I brought it into work. I made a huge pan and it was gone in about 25 minutes, and one of my co-workers emailed me that I "won Wednesday."

Here's how to make it:

Ingredients:
1 can of Pillsbury biscuits (this recipe was actually on the label of the biscuits!)
*I bought the pre-packaged 4-pack of biscuits which I am counting as 1 can.
~1/2 cup of sugar
Cinnamon
3/4 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of butter

Really easy to upscale this recipe--I made a quadruple batch for my hungry freshman advisees and co-workers.

Directions
1. Grease a pan and cut the biscuits into quarters. I actually use scissors.

2. Generously coat the cut up biscuits with sugar and cinnamon.

3. Melt the butter and brown sugar over a stove and pour the mixture on top of the biscuits.
4. Bake at 350 degrees for about 35-40 minutes or until golden brown.

5. When they're done, flip the pan over so that the sauce from the bottom is on top. It's kind of like a pineapple upside down cake. ENJOY!
