I have amazing friends who are creative and fun and have awesome ideas. So I'm sharing some of them! The 4th of July just came and went and I had a ton of fun. My friends and I made a few themed treats--watermelon shots, a beer strawberry punch, and hamburger cookies! These treats are guaranteed to make you some friends.
1. Watermelon Shots--We followed this Buzzfeed article. The secret is definitely the extra gelatin if you want the slices to hold shape.
Check them out below!
2. Berry Beer punch
I was inspired by this recipe, but I'm somewhat limited when it comes to grocery shopping. I ended up mixing 1 cup of vodka, 1 24 oz Corona Lite, and 1 cup of Strawberry Margarita Mix. It was a bit sweet, so we added squeezed lemon to the drink. I think you could also add club soda and it would be great!
3. Burger Cookies
My friend made these for a party and they were a huge hit!
Nilla wafers
Thin mint cookies (or Keebler Grasshopper cookies)
Shredded coconut (shaken in a bag with green food coloring)
Red and yellow frosting
To assemble, put a little frosting on the bottom of a wafer, place the thin mint cookie, top with some coconut and then the yellow and red frosting and put on your top bun. Adorable!
